Where do things go when you throw them away in New York City? And more importantly, where is “away”? This series of public programs explored the waste system of New York City to consider how the contemporary city has been shaped and reshaped over time by how we manage our garbage.

Using lectures, tours, and other special events, OHNY and DSNY invited the public to consider what possibilities a radical transformation in waste management could have for new forms of architecture and urbanism.
