Litter Cleanups
“The cleanups actually became a weekly activity during our lunch period. Their actions created a safer and cleaner environment. We will continue this routine next school year as well. This was a great experience for students to see firsthand how littering impacts their community. After our cleanups, students felt a bigger need and responsibility to help maintain a better environment.”
- Priscilla Shen, Teacher and Sustainability Coordinator, P.S. 295 Studio School of Arts and Culture, Brooklyn
Waste Audits
“It’s a visceral activity that makes you think about the type and amount of our waste. There are so many lessons to learn and entry points to this lesson. I really enjoyed it, and the kids learned so much.”
- Ashley Grey, Teacher and Sustainability Coordinator at Baruch College Campus High School, Manhattan
