Favorite thing to do in my city: Take a trip to Governor’s Island and lay in the hammocks
Favorite part of the job: At my garage, I help with operations. I get to tow collection trucks if they break down and be the hero!

Favorite thing to do in my borough: Have a picnic in Astoria Park with my friends
Favorite part of the job: I play the drums in our department’s “Pipes and Drums” band! We march in various parades throughout the year including the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Favorite thing to do in my borough: Get italian ices in Morris Park
Favorite part of my job: I enjoy driving the mechanical broom. This helps keep the street clean from litter. I am doing my part to keep the city clean.

Favorite thing to do in my borough: Ride the cyclone in Coney Island
Favorite part of my job: I like picking up corner litter baskets. Each litter basket weighs about 30 lbs. -- they don't call us New York’s Strongest for nothing!

Favorite part of the job: I enjoy spreading salt on the roads during the winter. This helps the snow melt and allows first responders to do their jobs.

Favorite thing to do in my borough: Take a walk through Snug Harbor on my days off
Favorite part of the job: Some of us work in an office. My team uses computer technology to map out the best routes that Sanitation Workers should take when clearing the snow.
