Far Rockaway Volunteer Street Tree Care Event

Join New York City Council Majority Whip Brooks-Powers and the Sanitation Foundation for a community tree care event in Far Rockaway!

Meet your Council Member, beautify your community and learn more about the important role street trees play in creating a healthier & more livable city!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Volunteers will spend time removing litter from street tree pits, applying compost -- made with food scraps collected through NYC's compost collection program and planting daffodil bulbs!

WHAT TO WEAR

  • We encourage you to wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty & closed-toe shoes.

  • Wearing layers and insulated clothing is also recommended.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Please bring your own water bottle & sunscreen

  • There is no onsite storage for valuables, please only bring necessities. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • We will provide all necessary tools and gloves

RESTROOM ACCESS

  • We cannot guarantee access to a public restroom during the event. Please plan accordingly.
